The application is used extensively for bathymetric modeling, terrain modeling, landscape visualization, contour mapping, surface analysis, watershed or 3D surface mapping, gridding, volumetrics, viewshed analysis, and much more.
Surfer’s complex interpolation engine converts your XYZ information into publication quality maps. Surfer offers more gridding variants and more control in gridding parameters, including customized variograms, than any other application package on the market. You can also use grid documents from other sources, such as USGS DEM files and ESRI grid documents. Show your grid as great contour, 3D surface, watershed, 3D wireframe,vector, image, shaded relief, and viewshed maps. Integrate base maps to display boundaries and imagery, post maps to display point locations, and blend map types to make the most informative display possible. Golden Software Surfer is an efficient software for 3D modeling and mapping of data. The program is widely used to model land cover, mapping and 3D-depth depths of the sea, analyzing ground and sub surface levels, modeling and visualizing watersheds, and so on. In fact, this program converts raw XYZ input into printable 3D maps.
